*IF YOU’RE PLANNING TO SEE AN US THE DUO CONCERT DURING THEIR JUST LOVE TOUR DO NOT READ THIS AS THERE MAY BE SPOILERS FOR YOU UNLESS THEY MAKE EVERY EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT*
Here’s to my second outside of school concert.
On Thursday, February 2, 2017, a group of friends and I went to see Us the Duo, a.k.a. Michael & Carissa Alvarado a.k.a. the cutest, musically inclined, talented couple of the century.
I have been following these two since I was in high school. Their chemistry and their music is just amazing and that was definitely felt during the concert.
We drove over to the City National Grove of Anaheim to witness greatness and stood among the masses waiting for Us the Duo to perform.
The atmosphere was great. If you have ever been to the City National Grove of Anaheim, it is a beautiful venue. I wish I had taken pictures to show you but it would be better to go there if you have the opportunity for a concert. The opener of the concert was an up and coming artist, Hailey Knox.
To be honest I was not really paying attention due to the fact I was buying a shirt, taking pictures, using the bathroom, and ordering my mojito, but towards the end of her set I made my way to the main space and she was actually pretty good. If you ever get the chance, here’s her link to see more of her music.
Before Us the Duo came on, my group ran into so many people. We ran into people from our school as well as a few stars along the way, specifically Cathy Nguyen.
If you do not know her, she’s a famous YouTube star widely known for her roles in WongFu Productions. I have been watching her since my late middle school and high school days that I flipped tables when I saw her in person. I even got a chance to grab a picture with her ! She is so sweet and as gorgeous as ever.
Then, the real show started.
I cannot with this duo. My feelings were all over the place during their set. They did a couple of covers that they featured on their YouTube channel as well as three of their new songs of their Public Record. There were so many highlights during this concert that made it more exciting than, I’m pretty sure the whole audience, anticipated. It wasn’t a standard concert where they just keep playing a bunch of songs, talk about each one, and then leave.
No. It was so much more.
They interacted with the audience with trivia, did some Q & A from the audience, and brought their living room to us. It felt as if we were at their place, jamming, having a good time, and having a couple glasses of wine (which Carissa had one which threw everyone off because we were hoping she would announce she was pregnant). The concert in itself was amazing and that duo was amazing. They even played the songs I hoped for which are featured below. If you have the time to listen to Us the Duo, do it. There is definitely something in their repertoire that will just make you keep falling in love.
