15 Hours in the South Side

On March 24, 2017, a couple of friends decided to visit take a tour of the south side: sunny San Diego, California!

San Diego is a beloved destination for all who are seeking a taste of the city, the beach, the culture, the night life, and an access point to go to another country (the boarder to Mexico is right there for all you adventure & thrill seekers). The five of us managed to visit a number of locations in San Diego within fifteen hours, and this trip was worth every minute.

La Jolla Cove & Beachin

Along with the featured image for this post, here’s our group down in La Jolla Cove! We enjoyed the sun, the sand, and the waves filled with seaweed in this hidden gem. If you are looking for a unique place to relax that is not crowded and will provide adventure for the family, this is the place to go. We found some coves where water levels would rise and fall and some areas that offered mini rock climbing opportunities.

Mt. Soledad

Mt. Soledad is not only home to one of the most unique veterans memorials honoring those from the revolutionary war to the current war on terror, but also to an amazing view of San Diego and a mini hiking opportunity for tourists.

Balboa Park

Now this location I was the most excited for.
Balboa Park is where culture, science, and nature collide, home to more than 17 museums, multiple performing arts venues, lovely gardens, trails, and many other creative and recreational attractions. This is a great family trip destination as well as a beautiful location for photoshoots, relaxation, weddings, and all kinds of fun activities and events for all ages.

Seasons 52, Gaslamp Quarter, and Hammond’s

fullsizeoutput_66.jpegWe did not take too many photos towards the end of the night, but we ended the day with an incredible, bougie dinner at Seasons 52, a stroll around Gaslamp Quarter (Bars everywhere but didn’t have time to turn up, so definitely next time!), and topping everything off with a 32 mini ice cream cone flight from Hammond’s. fullsizeoutput_72.jpegNow a warning to those who want to attempt the 32 flight monster: DO NOT EAT THIS ALONE. Even with five of us we struggled eating the last few cones. This is highly recommended though if you want to try everything and you have a large group with you when you visit.

Overall the trip was great! We all had a great time and 10/10 would do it again with new destinations since San Diego always has something new for us to do.

Till next time, enjoy your Sunday!
