OOH it has been a HOT MINUTE since I have done a photoshoot. If you read my post on my 67 day journey, you know.
For those who don’t, it’s okay, I’ll catch you up to speed but you should definitely check out the other post to really understand the full extent of why I did this photoshoot. In a nutshell, these were my three goals:
- I lost some weight and a lot of clothes actually fit me now
- It’s been awhile since I’ve done a shoot. The last one I did was with Leanne & The Grey Smiles Project
- I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. Modeling is not easy (shout out to Chau because she’s a goddess) and I have clothes in my closet that either didn’t fit me before or I was too afraid to wear them in public because I felt like I wasn’t ready.
Therefore, I want to introduce you to one of my closest friends, Jessica Marie!
Jessica is amazing. She graduated with me and got her degree in Music. We had gone on a trip together to Florida with two of our other close friends, Bryan and JD, and she was our main photographer for the trip. The photos that she took were BEAUTIFUL. I saw so much potential in her and I knew that she can grow to be a professional. When I reached out to her, told her about my project, and how I wanted her to be a part of it, she was all for it. We started all the planning about a month ago and at the end of it all, it became a full on road trip.
We brought along our other close friend, Patricia (who is ALSO JUST AS AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL), and deemed it a girl’s day. On October 28, we piled into my car with our makeup, outfits, snacks, tunes, and drove off to San Pedro and beautiful sunny San Diego. The three locations we hit up were The Korean Friendship Bell, Balboa Park, and UCSD.
It wasn’t just me who was getting a photoshoot. As an amateur photographer myself, I wanted to take photos of my best friends as well. In addition to coming on this project, I told them to bring two outfits that they felt was a “big mood” and they felt comfortable being photographed in. Let me tell ya before you scroll down so more: I had GOOSEBUMPS. For a split second I had to ask myself if I identified as bisexual because not only their personalities, but how they showed up that day (and honestly every day, let’s just put it out there) was FIRE!!!
Some of the photos from the shoot are down below, but make sure to check out and show some mad love and support for my girls!
If you’re looking for a photoshoot, whether it be weddings, graduation, professional, nature, or more, go ahead and hit up Jessica Marie as well!
